When did you decide "okay, this is it, I'm
going to be a professional make up artist?"
The day I decided today is the day I was
going to be a professional makeup artist was
when... I was home one day my son was
home sick from pre-school one day. I was
watching a Total Music Video in 1994. I had
already been working for Laura Mercier
Cosmetics in Macys San Francisco. I said to
myself I can do that make money and really
get to express my love for the art of makeup
creating beautiful looks all the time for TV
and film.
What is the most memorable job you've
done?
All of my jobs are very rememberable. What
most rewarding is to see what you've
created actually come to life on screen or in
print. Red Carpets are very special
Grammys, Golden Globes and covers of
magazines are very exciting.

Advice for young make up artists who
are just starting out and want to be
where you are, at the top of the
industry?
My advice to young makeup artist
coming up today. Be yourself. Don't ever
stop learning. There are so many
different aspects to makeup many things
to create. Connecting to whatever it is
your creating can bring about some
beautiful works of art.
