Regaining Your Feminity
We all know menopause is the conclusion of menstruation and
includes side effects such as hot flashes and changes in mood.
But what we aren't talking about is that millions of women also
experience vaginal atrophy which includes ongoing vaginal
dryness, itching, burning and pain with intercourse.
Susan Schreffler, found herself dealing with vaginal atrophy. She
had a hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy,
(removal of the uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries) in her mid
30s. The effects of this surgery caused Susan to go into early
menopause. The average age for menopause is 51 years old.
According to the American Academy of Family Physicians, up to
40 percent of postmenopausal women have atrophic vaginitis or
vaginal atrophy. With nearly 64 million post-menopausal
patients, many women are suffering.
“I started researching my options and came across the MonaLisa
Touch treatment. What I read was intriguing and nothing else
available seemed to have the same positive outcomes.”
She found that Women’s Healthcare of Illinois located in Mokena
performed the MonaLisa Touch treatment and booked a free
consultation with Dr. Kenneth Finkelstein, gynecologist
specializing in urogynecology.
“During the consultation, Dr. Finkelstein answered all of my
questions and made me feel comfortable. I decided to get my
first treatment at my consultation. The treatment itself is
pain-free, requires no downtime, has no side effects and done in
just a few minutes in the office. There are three treatments done
six weeks apart,” explained Schreffler.
These symptoms greatly impact a woman’s quality of life,”
states Dr. Finkelstein. “As someone who has taken care of women
for over twenty years, I have watched countless women live with
discomfort and struggle with intimacy; it’s unacceptable. Finally,
we have a solution.”
“I was amazed by the results. After my first treatment I felt relief.
I have now completed my all three treatments and I can say for
the first time in 30 years I am not suffering from vaginal atrophy.”
