Vlašský dvůr / The Italian Court
otev�ena pro ve�ejnost od 1. dubna. Její historie sahá až do
13. století, kdy byla kaple sou�ástí Sedleckého kláštera, kde dnes
sídlí tabáková firma Philip Morris i muzeum tabáku.
Sedlecký klášter si v historii užil svoje. Nejprve byl zdemolován husity,
obnovy se do�kal v baroku, kdy mu vtiskl podobu sv�toznámý stavitel
Jan Blažej Santini i malí� Petr Brandl, který je poh�ben na kutnohorském
nám�stí v kostele Panny Marie Na Nám�stí. Uplynulo však sotva sto let
a klášter se stal skladem mouky a posléze tabáku.

the public on April 1 following renovation work.
The history of the building reaches as far back as
the 13th century when it was part of the Sedlec
Monastery. This is now part of the Philip Morris
cigarette factory and the Tobacco Museum.
The Sedlec Monastery has seen its fair share of trouble over the
centuries; first it was demolished by the Hussites, before being
rebuilt in the baroque style by the famous architect Jan Blažej
Santini and the painter Petr Brandl, who is buried in the Church of
St Mary in the square in Kutná Hora. Hardly had a century passed
when the monastery became a flour store and then a tobacco
warehouse.

laboratory with curious jars and
all kinds of magic potions. You can
also take a look inside the dungeon
where the alchemists were thrown
when their experiments failed!
tobacco Museum
If you arrive in Kutná Hora on
a Tuesday or Thursday, why not take a tour of the cigarette factory
(open on these days only) which takes visitors round the shop floor and
gives them an insight into the history of tobacco production. The factory
is housed in the former Sedlec Monastery.
