To nejzajímav�jší ze sv�tové kinematografie bude v b�eznu k vid�ní již
po�trnácté na jedné z nejv�tších filmových p�ehlídek – Febiofestu. V Praze
prob�hne od 22. 3. do 30. 3. v pražském Village Cinemas And�l.
T�šit se m�žete na latinskoamerické �i asijské kino, zajímavosti ze severní
Afriky �i filmy mapující konflikt na Blízkém východ� nebo novinky ze
sv�tové tvorby, které sklidily úsp�ch na mezinárodních festivalech.

Ze zahrani�ních host� uvítá Febiofest lo�ského držitele Zlaté palmy
v Cannes za režii, Bruno Dumonta, autora film� jako 29 palem �i Flandry.
Dalším o�ekávaným hostem bude gruzínský režisér Otar Ioseliani,
autor melancholického pohledu na m�sto gondol, Ráno v Benátkách.

Opravdovou specialitou bude projekce opusu ma�arského mága Bély
Tarra Satanské tango, které trvá pekelných 445 minut a je sou�ástí
sekce v�nované sou�asným ma�arským film�m. Milovníci dlouhých
experiment� si letos p�ijdou opravdu na své, Febio totiž promítne také
24hodinové speciáln� zpomalené Hitchcockovo Psycho. <
Projekt 100
Až do kv�tna nabízí putovní p�ehlídka další desítku filmových lah�dek
r�zných zemí i žánr�.

Ze starších snímk� p�ináší Projekt 100 nap�íklad americký špionážní
thriller „mistra nap�tí“ Alfréda Hitchcocka Na sever severozápadní
linkou, který se stal vzorem pro rané bondovky. V podobném duchu se
nese i britský špionážní thriller T�etí muž podle románu Grahama Greena.
Kdo má rád westerny, nem�l by si nechat ujít snímek Pat Garrett
a Billy The Kid. Klasikou zcela odlišnou je snímek francouzské nové vlny
Cléo od 5 do 7 od Agnés Vardové.
někdo to rád poetické
Z jiného soudku je poetické a velmi osobní Zrcadlo ruského režiséra
Andreje Tarkovského, v n�mž se vize prolínají se vzpomínkami. Poeticky
lad�ná je i Cesta dom�, poklidnou atmosféru však narušuje �ínská
kulturní revoluce. Pokud vás zajímají jiné kultury, pak doporu�ujeme
„jihoafrického Kolju“ Tsotsiho o jednom z johannesburských gang�
nebo snímek Zvedá se vítr z období irské války o nezávislost.

For the fourteenth time the most interesting movies from the realm of
world film can be seen this March at Febiofest, one of the largest film
festivals in Europe. This will take place in Prague March 22 – 30 at the
Village Cinemas And�l.
Audiences can look forward to Latin-American films, interesting pictures
from northern Africa and films tracing the conflict in the Middle
East. Then there will be new world films which have enjoyed success at
international festivals.
welcome to the party
This year Febiofest will welcome last year’s winner of the Golden Palm
for best director at Cannes, Bruno Dumont, creator of films such as in
29 palms and Flanders. Another guest expected to appear at the festival
is the Georgian director, Otar Ioseliani, maker of the melancholic look at
Italy’s city of Gondolas called, Monday Morning.
a long night
A special feature of the festival will be the showing of Hungarian director,
Béla Tarr’s epic called Satan’s Tango, which lasts a hellish 445 minutes and
which will form part of a section dedicated to contemporary Hungarian
film. Those who appreciate long experimental pictures will have much
to look forward at this year’s festival which will also see the screening of
a specially slowed-down 24-hour version of Hitchcock’s Psycho. <

This touring film festival will present ten film gems from various
countries and genres until May.

As far as older films are concerned, Project 100 will present the
American spy film by the ‘master of the thriller’, Alfred Hitchcock. North
by Northwest became a blueprint for the early Bond films. The British
spy thriller The Third Man, based on the novel by Graham Green, is
a similar a�air. Those who like westerns shouldn’t miss Pat Garrett
and Billy the Kid. The French ‘new wave’ film called Cléo from 5 to 7 by
Agnés Varda is a di�erent type of classic altogether.
or do you prefer a little more poetry?
The poetic and very personal film The Mirror by Russian director,
Andrei Tarkovsky, is from a very di�erent stable indeed. The Way Home
is also a poetic piece, though the idyllic scene is rudely interrupted
by the Chinese Cultural Revolution. If you are interested in di�erent
cultures, the ‘South African Kolja’ called Tsotsi about a Johannesburg
gang comes highly recommended, as does the film Wind That Shakes
the Barley about the Irish War of Independence.
what about something provoking?
Those who like to be entertained by futuristic visions of what is to come
are advised to look out for the adaptation of a novel by Anthony Burgess
called Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick. A Hungarian film called
Taxidermia is also a thought provoking a�air. It deals with the history of
Hungary in three separate stories and includes instinctual sex, bizarre
sports and a love of stu�ng animals and other things. <
