Our district
The Coalinga-Huron Recreation and Parks
District encompasses over 860 miles and
was formed in 1972 to serve both the
communities of Huron and Coalinga, CA.
With a total population of 27,000 people,
CHRPD is responsible for the maintenance
and operation related to special events,
activities, sports and recreation programs
for youth and adults that takes place in four
parks (totaling 50 acres), two community
centers, two fitness centers, two pools, and
a Landscape and Lighting Maintenance
District. CHRPD also operates Camp
Yeager, a camp accomodating about 125
people located in Cambria, CA.

Boys & Girls Recreational Basketball Program,
including practices and games. A great
experience for our youth. Volunteer coaches

A “Practice Play” program. Boys & Girls practice
fo 20-30 minutes, then play a game for about 30
minutes. Volunteer coaches needed by 1/6.

Hit, Throw, Catch
4/22-5/13 9am- 12pm SAT
$30 Ages 3-4
This practice/play program will teach the basic
skills of hitting, running the bases, and fielding the
ball. Each team will practice for 30 minutes and
then scrimmage another team. Coaches needed.

On-Leash Dog Obedience
1/7-2/4 10am-12pm SAT
$150 Age 18+
5 week class teaching owners how to train and
communicate with their dogs. Leash and Prong
collar included.

1/8-2/12 2pm-4pm SUN
$450 Age 18+
6 week class designed to afford dogs the freedom of
E-Collar training. Leash and E-Collar Included.

Youth Okinawan Karate
1/11-4/26 3:30pm-5:30pm WED
$25/month
Youth
Receive instruction in traditional Okinawan Karate for
health and self-defense. No experience or additional
supplies required. Two classes available, one at 3:30pm
and one at 4:30 pm.

E&M’s Reptile Family provides a very unique,
fun, and highly educational one-hour
program. They arrive with an exciting and
diverse menagerie of living Arthropods
(creepy-crawlies). Kids will recieve snacks.

Mosaic Art Class
2/11 1pm SAT
$60 Adult
Learn mosaic basics in this fun class and take
home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, finished
piece. You’ll learn how to cut plates, glue and
grout. Everything is included to complete the
project-broken plate pieces, glass baubles,
trinkets, tools, grout and a 8”wood heart base.

Basilwood Woolie Workshop

own works of art! They make fantastic gifts.

“Sparkle” Princess Concert

Pre-sale tickets are $10 per seat and $15 at the
door. If you would like your little princess to
experience the Royal Treatment, take a look at

Games are held every Saturday with at least one
practice during the week. COACHES NEEDED!

3rd Annual Pleasant Valley Car Show
4/22 9am-3pm SAT
$25 All Ages
In Memory of Randy Oxborrow. Cars, trucks and
motorcyles welcome. T-shirts, goodie bags and dash
plaques included with registration while supplies last.
Trophies awarded for furthest distance traveled, most
car club participants, and drivers choice top 10.
Check-in starts at 7am. Pre-Reg fee $25. Fee increases
to $30 the day of the event. Location: Keck Park

April Fool’s Coed Volleyball

$15 Ages 18+
6 x 6 Double Elimination tournament. Each
team is guaranteed at least 2 games. Maximum
of 8 players on a roster. Cost increases
to $20 a player March 28 & 29th. Individual
player fee listed. Team fee $90.

Huron Flea Markets
1st & 2nd Sunday 8am-4pm SUN
$10 Vendors
Fun for the whole family. Find a great selection and savings on a
variety of items. Fee includes 10 x 10 space. Multi-space
discounts available. No market on New Years Day Jan. 1st, 2017.

Rhythm & Spice Fundraiser Dinner
2/10 7pm-10pm SAT
$35 Adults
Enjoy an elegant 3-course dinner prepared by Alberto
Bustamante Head Chef at Fugazzis Bistro in Hanford. Live
performance by top notch band, Most Wanted. No host bar, and
silent auction. After February 3rd the ticket prices will go up
$10. Limited to the first 125 guests. All proceeds will go to help
send kids from Huron to Camp Yeager in Cambria for a week.
Register by 2/9. Reserve a table of 8 for $260.

Color De Mayo 5K Run
5/6 8am-12pm SAT
5 & Under = Free, Ages 6-17 = $10, Ages 18 & Up = $15
Enjoy a 3.1 mile run/walk with family and friends through the
community of Huron. Official chip-timing. Awards will be given
to the top male & female of each age division. A trophy to the
most spirited team will be given out. All proceeds will help the
Huron Community Enhancement Foundation award the “Jackie
Navarro Scholorship” to West Hills College students. After the
race enjoy live music, and food vendors! Deadline: 4/21. Fee
increases $5 after deadline. Registration includes a t-shirt, bag
of color, and goodie bags from our sponsers!
