Our district<br />

The Coalinga-Huron Recreation and Parks<br />

District encompasses over 860 miles and<br />

was formed in 1972 to serve both the<br />

communities of Huron and Coalinga, CA.<br />

With a total population of 27,000 people,<br />

<strong>CHRPD</strong> is responsible for the maintenance<br />

and operation related to special events,<br />

activities, sports and recreation programs<br />

for youth and adults that takes place in four<br />

parks (totaling 50 acres), two community<br />

centers, two fitness centers, two pools, and<br />

a Landscape and Lighting Maintenance<br />

District. <strong>CHRPD</strong> also operates Camp<br />

Yeager, a camp accomodating about 125<br />

people located in Cambria, CA.<br />

Hit, Throw, Catch<br />

4/22-5/13 9am- 12pm SAT<br />

$30 Ages 3-4<br />

This practice/play program will teach the basic<br />

skills of hitting, running the bases, and fielding the<br />

ball. Each team will practice for 30 minutes and<br />

then scrimmage another team. Coaches needed.<br />

fun, and highly educational one-hour<br />

program. They arrive with an exciting and<br />

diverse menagerie of living Arthropods<br />

(creepy-crawlies). Kids will recieve snacks.<br />

Mosaic Art Class<br />

Learn mosaic basics in this fun class and take<br />

home a beautiful, one-of-a-kind, finished<br />

piece. You’ll learn how to cut plates, glue and<br />

grout. Everything is included to complete the<br />

project-broken plate pieces, glass baubles,<br />

trinkets, tools, grout and a 8”wood heart base.<br />

Fun for the whole family. Find a great selection and savings on a<br />

variety of items. Fee includes 10 x 10 space. Multi-space<br />

discounts available. No market on New Years Day Jan. 1st, <strong>2017</strong>.<br />

Rhythm & Spice Fundraiser Dinner<br />

Enjoy an elegant 3-course dinner prepared by Alberto<br />

Bustamante Head Chef at Fugazzis Bistro in Hanford. Live<br />

performance by top notch band, Most Wanted. No host bar, and<br />

$10. Limited to the first 125 guests. All proceeds will go to help<br />

send kids from Huron to Camp Yeager in Cambria for a week.<br />

Color De Mayo 5K Run<br />

5 & Under = Free, Ages 6-17 = $10, Ages 18 & Up = $15<br />

Enjoy a 3.1 mile run/walk with family and friends through the<br />

community of Huron. Official chip-timing. Awards will be given<br />

to the top male & female of each age division. A trophy to the<br />

most spirited team will be given out. All proceeds will help the<br />

Huron Community Enhancement Foundation award the “Jackie<br />

Navarro Scholorship” to West Hills College students. After the<br />

race enjoy live music, and food vendors! Deadline: 4/21. Fee<br />

increases $5 after deadline. Registration includes a t-shirt, bag<br />

of color, and goodie bags from our sponsers!<br />
