The Promise by Jose Rivera
NEW!
With inspiration from Romeo and Juliet, and a nod to Puerto-Rican
culture, Jose Rivera tackles love, death, and family rivalries in this
Latin-surrealist play. When over-protective and superstitious
Guzman finds out his daughter has fallen in love with his rival’s
son, he formulates a treacherous scheme to keep the young lovers
apart, but quickly learns that his manipulation has produced
consequences he never imagined. OLLI members will be able to
attend a special preview performance of this exciting contemporary
work in the intimate CSUDH Edison Studio Theatre.
