Facebook 101 for Seniors
NEW!
Facebook is the leader of social media. A whopping 56 percent
fall in the age bracket of 65 years and older. This is more than any
other social networking website, so we developed Facebook 101
for Seniors just for OLLI @ CSUDH.
This class is designed for the senior/beginner to develop basic skills
required to use Facebook, the computer (desktop/laptop) version,
not the Smartphone Mobile App version. The class assumes that
you have some, but limited, exposure to computers, laptops and
the Internet. Topics will be centered on discovering the seniorfriendly
use of Facebook, and how to upload and download your
digital pictures and videos.
Attendees should have their current sign-in information (email or
phone number and password) to access their Facebook account.
Don’t worry, if you don’t already have a Facebook account, we
will show you how to create one. And, your first Facebook friends
potentially are your Facebook 101 for Seniors classmates.
Introduction to Video Recording
and Editing
This class will introduce students to the basics of video recording
and editing. It will include such topics as video equipment, recording
processes, video editing, final production and more. Students
will embark on creating a video project on a subject of their choice,
which they find unique and special. Whether you use an iPad,
iPhone, webcam, videocam or other device to capture your videos,
the basic principles of video recording and editing remain the same.
This class will help you to increase your knowledge and skill of
those basic principles to create great videos for yourself, your family
Students are encouraged to bring their own portable electronic
