Merry Christmas!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! With the
season nearly half way through we are
able to take some time and reflect on
a fantastic start to 2016/17. Our
Premier Men are currently sitting third
in the Hedley-Howarth Two Day
Competition, with Hareen Silva and
Finn Allen sitting 5th and 6th respectively
on the batting table. Our Premier
Women beat Papatoetoe to come
third in the Prichard Cup, first ton of
the season coming for Katie Gurrey
with a massive 179 not out. Our
Premier Reserve Men are sitting
second on the Limited Overs Competition.
Our U10 Churchill Park School
Demons are topping the Mini Hearts
comp and the U12 Diamonds are also
topping the table of the Junior Hearts
comp! Go girls!
Not always mentioned are our T20
League teams. The AUCC Flat Bush
Friends XI are sitting atop of the 1B
league, with the AUCC Mothriders not
far behind in 4th. It’s no surprise that
AUCC are dominating that grade
when 9 of the top 10 players in the
MVP are from the club!
Connor Ansell and Finn Allen went
down to First XI Nationals with St
Kentigern College. Only just missing
out on first place, both Connor and
Finn showed their class with the bat
taking out 3rd and 5th respectively in
the batting aggregate table, well
done boys!
Good luck to all our players representing
EDCA. Y11, 12 & 13 are nearly finished
whilst the Y7, 8, 9 & 10s are to play
after Christmas. We look forward to
seeing your results.
We’d like to take a moment to thank
everyone for their hard work so far
this season. We hope you have a
relaxing break with friends and family,
see you in the New Year!
Congratulations Auckland U21s
Well done to Auckland U21 and AUCC players Jesse
Prasad and coach Vic Lind for taking out the Women’s
National U21 tournament this week. The team won the
tournament with a game to spare as they cleaned up
their opponents over the six days. There will be little rest
for this pair over the Christmas period as Lind will be
preparing for the next two rounds of the domestic
season start on the 27th, while Prasad will be in training
for the National U18 Women’s tournament to be held in
Wellington early January.
Well done to both, and all the best for the rest of the
season!
