BRANDING
Internal Branding ist ein ganzheitlicher
Mitarbeiter von ihrer Marke begeistert
sie von innen heraus den Prozess
ALLIANZ
AN EXCHANGE OF
VISIONS AND IDEAS
PRIDE
DAN PEARLMAN — THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
OPENNESS
Der Gedanke an den offenen Austausch
von Visionen und Ideen führte zum
Leitbild des Auditoriums: Als Symbol
für eine wachsende und sich gegenseitig
inspirierende Kommunikation diente
das Netzwerk als zentrale Metapher
für den Auditoriumssaal. Hier können
sich alle Mitarbeiter als vernetzte Individuen
eines starken und globalen Netzwerks
physisch erleben und gegenseitig
inspirieren.
The guiding principle of the auditorium
is derived from the idea of an open exchange
of visions and ideas, the cosmos
of the global Allianz Community. Designed
as a network, it acts as a symbol
for growing and mutually inspiring
communication. Here all the employees
can interact and inspire each other.
One stipulation of the competition was that employees as well as visitors should
be able to sense the three values of openness, collaboration, and pride immediately
upon entering the building — no easy task for a structure that is situated
mostly underground and is only accessible through an existing adjacent building
due to its location. The result is a spatial concept that strengthens the emotional
bond between Allianz as employer brand and the employees.
DAN PEARLMAN — THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
COLLABORATION
Along with the rows of seats that can be partially lowered, the hall can be transformed
into a variety of spaces: the »convertible space« functions as an auditorium,
conference hall, seating hall, event hall, assembly location, and performance
hall all-in-one. This becomes a place where all the employees can come
together and collaborate.
By interactively and playfully incorporating
Im ersten Schritt werden die Anforderungen
und die Bedürfnisse aller am
Projekt Beteiligten definiert. Trend-,
Benchmark-, Wettbewerbs- und Zielgruppenanalysen
bilden die Grundlagen
für ein umfassendes gemeinsames
Verständnis für die Aufgabenstellung
und den Status quo.
The first step involves defining the requirements
and needs of all projectstakeholders.
Trend-, benchmark-, competition
and target group analyses form
the basis of an in-depth, joint understanding
of the task and status quo.
Im nächsten Schritt legen wir beschränkende
Faktoren zur Seite und entwickeln
in interdisziplinären Teams auf Basis der
durchgeführten Analysen ideale Lösungen
für die Problemstellung. Denn oft
stecken die besten Ideen in den Lösungen,
die zunächst unmöglich scheinen.
In the next step, we put limiting factors
aside and develop ideal solutions in interdisciplinary
teams for solving the
problem based on the research conducted.
Often the best ideas come from
the solutions that first seem impossible.
In Schritt drei kommt die Realität zurück
ins Spiel. Entwickelte Lösungen werden
auf Machbarkeit überprüft, selektiert
und weiterentwickelt. Am Ende dieses
Entwicklungsschritts steht ein schlüssiges
Konzept, das ggf. prototypisch
umgesetzt und getestet wird.
In step three, reality comes back into
play. Developed solutions are tested
for feasibility, selected and developed
further. At the end of this
step of development a coherent approach
emerges, which, if needed, is
produced as a prototype and tested.
Das Konzept wird Realität. Von der Idee
über die Planung bis zur Umsetzung
steht ein Team von Spezialisten bereit.
Doch mit der Umsetzung ist bei uns
noch nicht Schluss. Sie ist Ausgangspunkt
für eine gemeinsame Bewertung
idea to the planning to the implmentation,
a team of specialists is involved. But
the starting point for joint evaluation
THE FUTURE
REINVENTING WORKSPACES
Marcus Fischer, Creative Director bei
dan pearlman und Professor für Markenführung,
über die Bedeutung einer
erfolgreichen Employee Experience für
Unternehmen
Was genau soll „The Employee
Experience« ausdrücken?
Generell geht es um die Einbindung von
Mitarbeitern in das Gesamtgefüge eines
Unternehmens. Mitarbeiter schaffen
mit ihrer Arbeit Werte und tragen
zum Wert eines Unternehmens entscheidend
bei. Wie erfolgreich sie den
Wert eines Unternehmens mit ihrer Arbeit
mehren, hängt aber heute nicht
mehr allein von der Höhe des Gehaltschecks
ab, sondern von der Bewertung
der eigenen Arbeit. Damit definiert
der Mitarbeiter den Wert des eigenen
Tuns und schließlich den Wert des eigenen
Selbst. Unternehmen können den
Kampf um die besten Köpfe nicht über
die Stellschraube Geld gewinnen, sondern
müssen ihren Mitarbeitern Unternehmensziele
bieten, mit denen sie sich
identifizieren und für die sie täglich als
Markenbotschafter tätig sein wollen.
Wie können Unternehmen
dies schaffen?
Unternehmen in gesättigten Märkten
dürfen nicht länger nur auf Gewinnmaximierung
setzen. Sie brauchen Ziele,
die Sinn stiften und ein positives Wertegefüge
repräsentieren. Darunter verstehen
wir die ethische Verantwortung
von Unternehmen, die sich sogar als unternehmerische
Pflicht vor allem für global
agierende Unternehmen begreifen
lässt, etwas an die Gesellschaft zurückzugeben.
Als Internal Branding Spezialisten
arbeiten wir gemeinsam mit Unternehmen
an einer solchen Strategie,
die dann als Internal Branding Kampagne
alle Mitarbeiter einbindet. Wir wissen:
Die Investition in Mitarbeiter ist eine
Investition in den Wert der Marke und
die wiederum steht in direktem Zusammenhang
mit dem Unternehmenswert.
Jede Maßnahme, die auf Internal Branding
abzielt ist besser als gar keine.
Ist mit »Employee Experience« nicht
auch ein schöner Arbeitsort gemeint?
INTERVIEWS
Wertschätzung gegenüber den Mitarbeitern
beginnt selbstverständlich mit
den drei großen Ls: Licht, Luft, Lärm.
gut tut und alle arbeitsrechtlichen und
arbeitsphysiologischen Rahmenbedingungen
erfüllt, lässt sich darauf hervor-
arbeiten Menschen natürlich
auch lieber an einem gut gestalteten
Ort, der in Bezug auf Design, Organisation
und Ausstattung die Bedürfnisse
der Mitarbeiter in den Mittelpunkt stellt.
Raumerlebnis und Verhalten stehen
dabei in direktem Zusammenhang. In
erster Linie wird daher nicht ein Raumkonzept
sondern ein Kommunikationskonzept
für die Kommunikation zwischen
Arbeitgeber und Arbeitnehmer
geplant. Am Ende entstehen ganzheitliche
Identitätskonzepte, die zum Unternehmen
und zur Marke passen und
sich zum Bespiel klar in einer Campus-Struktur
oder den Markenräumen
bis hin zur Unternehmenskantine widerspiegeln
Werden Arbeitswelten durch
die Digitalisierung überflüssig?
Die Zukunft der Arbeitswelten wird
stark durch die Digitalisierung geprägt
sein. Wir werden eine brückenlosen
und fluide Verschmelzung von analog
und digital erleben; auch neurologische
Schnittstellen werden immer interessanter.
Dennoch: Menschen leben in einer
What exactly does »The Employee
How can companies achieve this?
Companies in mature markets may no
longer rely only on maximizing profits.
They need goals that create meaning
and stand for a positive system
of values. Here, we feel an ethical responsibility
of businesses to give society
something back. This responsibility
could even be understood as an
entrepreneurial duty, especially for globally
present companies. Being Internal
Branding specialists, we elaborate
those strategies together with the company,
which then serves as an Internal
Branding campaign able to involve all
their employees. We know that investing
in the employees means investing
in the brand’s value and therefore investing
in the company’s value. Every
measure aiming for Internal Branding
What has to be created is an overall
Generally, the involvement of employees
HOW IT WORKS
Karen Klessinger, Creative Director bei
dan pearlman, über die Einbindung von
Mitarbeitern ins Markenmanagement
Welche Rolle spielen Mitarbeiter für
die Wahrnehmung einer Marke und
eines Unternehmens?
Mitarbeiter sind einerseits die Repräsentanten
eines Unternehmens und im
Idealfall seine Markenbotschafter und
andererseits ebenso seine möglichen
Kunden. Je nach Perspektive nehmen
sie einen internen Blick auf das Unternehmen
ein oder setzen die Kundenbrille
auf. Marken müssen deshalb für
Arbeitnehmer genauso attraktiv sein
wie für Kunden. Das Erlebnis, welches
eine Marke seinen Kunden und Mitarbeitern
bietet, muss also als ein einheitliches
Markenerlebnis gedacht und geplant
werden. Customer Experience und
Employee Experience dürfen nicht getrennt
voneinander gedacht werden.
Wie gelingt eine erfolgreiche
Customer Experience?
gibt. Die klassischen Zielgruppen haben
ausgedient. Unsere Bedürfnisse ändern
sich im Minutentakt, ebenso tun es unsere
Rollen und die Perspektiven, die
wir zur Marke einnehmen. Heute brauchen
individuelle Nutzer eine individuelle
Customer Experience an allen
möglichen Touchpoints. Anders ausgedrückt:
Wo es gestern genügt hat,
dem Kunden oder Mitarbeiter mithilfe
eines bestimmten Markenimages
Orientierung zu bieten, müssen heute
multidirektionale Erlebnisse und Kommunikation
geschaffen werden. Diese
Revolution im Denken und Handeln
der Nutzer stellt sogar Geschäftsmodelle
in Frage.
Gibt es ein Erfolgsrezept für die
perfekte Customer Experience?
Anfang jeder erfolgreichen Customer
Experience steht und Kunden wie Mitarbeiter
als Nutzer einschließt. Diese dient
Einer der wohl wichtigsten Punkte ist
die Offenheit gegenüber Veränderungen.
einer Customer Experience Map über
verschiedene Workshops hinweg, sondern
setzen die sich daraus ableitenden
Prozesse auch langfristig mit ihnen um.
Welche besonderen Erfahrungen
bringt eine Kreativagentur dabei ein?
Der Kampf um die Wahrnehmung bei
Konsumenten und Mitarbeitern hat eine
enorme Agilität und läuft mit Lichtgeschwindigkeit.
Unternehmen müssen
sich daher auf einen Perspektivwechsel
einlassen, bei denen wir ihnen als
Kreativagentur mit unserem Know-how
aus der Markenführung und dem Internal
Branding helfen. Und: Wir kennen
die Mechanismen, die künftig erfolgreiches
Arbeiten ermöglichen - wie
zum Beispiel Partizipation, Responsivness
und Holacracy - aus eigener Erfahrung,
DAN PEARLMAN — THE EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE
HOW IT WORKS
Karen Klessinger, Creative Director at
dan pearlman, about how employees
can successfully contribute to the brand
management
What role do employees have for the
success of a brand and a company?
On one hand, employees are the brand
ambassadors and representatives of a
company. On the other hand, they are
also the brand’s potential customers.
Brands must therefore be equally attractive
for both employees and customers.
The experience must be thought
of as a unified brand experience, offering
a brand to its customers as well as
its employees. Customer Experience
and Employee Experience should not
be thought of separately.
How is a successful customer
experience created?
CREATING
EXPERIENCES
ployee anymore. The traditional target
audience definitions have become obsolete.
Our needs change by the minute,
as do our roles and perspectives.
Today, individual users need an individual
customer experience at every possible
touch point of the brand. In other
words: Yesterday it was sufficient to
offer orientation to the customer or an
employee by using a certain brand image,
but today multi-directional experiences
and communication must be
created. This revolution in the mindset
and perception of the user disrupts existing
business models.
Is there a recipe for the perfect
customer experience?
A successful customer experience
equally provides orientation, trust and
identification. It ensures loyal users who
value the brand as outstanding, valuable,
and who will choose them again.
A particularly efficient tool for holistic
development is a Customer Experience
Map. This is a master plan at the beginning
of any successful customer expe-
orientation to work at different times,
in different places, and different touchpoints
simultaneously to develop the
customer experience and the brand.
We support our customers not only in
the development of a Customer Experience
Map via various workshops, but
also ensure the implementation of processes
derived from it in the long term.
What particular experiences offers a
collaboration with a creative agency?
The battle for the perception of consumers
and employees has tremendous
agility and is running with the speed of
light. Companies must therefore engage
in a change of perspective where we as
a creative agency can help them with
our know-how of brand management
and Internal Branding. In addition, we
know the principles that enable future
successful work: participation, responsiveness,
and holacracy. This comes
from personal experience being in the
creative industry which has always been
