As for the racing, it must simply be said that Mariquita was pushed to new limits, and that she found another gear at the Régates Royales. But
there we were, and it did come down to the wire, like so many other regattas this year. This is what racing should be like. In a handicapped system,
clear cut winners every single time means there’s an error in the math. Regattas should always be fought for, podium places constantly changing.
That’s what this year has been like, and it keeps everyone hungering for more. With our last race finished, and the numbers finally in, it was time
to collect the trophy that we truly deserved. M.O.
