give you much feedback because of all the friction in the steering systems. Modern yachts have sophisticated roller bearings which reduce friction and therefore give you more feel,
especially in light conditions. In contrast, Mariquita is not telling you what is happening through the rudder. Your only option on the helm is to stay focused.
