Central Valley Corvettes - December 2016

This is my last letter as your president and
I would like to thank the entire club
membership for providing me with a truly
great experience these last two years. I
enjoyed the meetings, mystery runs and
even writing this letter monthly. It is the
other board members who really make an
organization like ours run smoothly and
we all owe them a debt of gratitude. Skip
Severance as VP Activities, Mike Lebda as
Treasurer, Dick Danielsen and Charlotte
Renna as VP Public Relations and
Membership and Debby Anderson as
Secretary are all to be commended for the
time and effort they put in fulfilling their
duties. The job of President is a piece of
cake when you have a great board doing
the real heavy lifting.
Also, many thanks to Sergeant at Arms
Chuck Laningham, Sunshine and Clouds
Jan De Mello/Pflepsen and our Raffle Lady
Susan Walker. They made our meetings
enjoyable and in Susan’s case very
profitable. Charlie Fosnaugh continues to
produce a first class newsletter for us so
thanks to him and also folks who
contribute to the Newsletter.
Congrats to the incoming board. I think it’s
a good mix of seasoned club members and
relatively new ones. It looks like we’re
leaving the club in good shape for them.
Membership is up. At last count were up to
96 members. The treasury is flush thanks to
the online Newsletter and awesome raffles.
We continue to have interesting runs and it
seems the participation by members on
runs has increased. I really enjoyed putting
on the Mystery Runs. Half the battle was
coming up with a destination that was new
and interesting to a well-traveled
membership.
Ed Dena, owner of Ed Dena’s Auto Center
has agreed to sponsor the club again for
2017. His financial contribution really helps
our treasury so if you want to purchase an
auto or need service remember to keep Ed
in mind.
It’s time for our annual Christmas Party and
Hayride. It’s a lot of work to put these on so
thanks to Debbie and Keith Garrison for the
Christmas Party and Charlotte Renna for the
Hayride.
As I sign off for the last time one last big
thank you to the entire club membership for
their participation, help and friendship
these last two years. As we used to say in
the Air Force, “it’s been a good run”.
