An old-fashioned Christmas in Worthington
This December you can step back in time to experience an old-fashioned Christmas.
The Nobles County Historical Society will once again be hosting their annual Old-Fashioned
Christmas at Pioneer Village in Worthington, MN, on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 1-2 from 5-9
p.m. Pioneer Village is a collection of historical buildings that would have seemed right at home at
the beginning of the 20th century including a saloon, churches, a barn and various businesses like
a dentist’s office.
In an effort to raise funds for the historical society many years ago, at least 20, the group decided
to host a special event at Christmastime.
The event is only $5 and children 15 and under can enjoy it for free.
In addition to a number of different venues for entertainment, children can also get the chance to
see Santa in the Fire Hall. They can sit on his lap and share with him what they want for Christmas,
and then they are given a bag with an apple and candy, all of which is donated to the historical
society.
The Fire Hall will also feature popcorn, apple cider, coffee and baked goods for sale. The Village
Hall will have a bake sale as well as a number of other vendors.

Holiday Vendor Fair
If you are looking to get a jumpstart on
your Christmas shopping then head to the
Hartley Legion on Sunday, Dec. 4, from 11
a.m.-4 p.m.
They’ll be hosting the Holiday Vendor Fair
and will have plenty of opportunities to pick
up some early Christmas presents as there will
be a number of vendors present.
