Background
a. Company History
Bargain House is a leading independent building materials & hardware store that operates in the
Polokwane area. Founded over 23 years ago by the late Mr. A.A.I. Sakoor, whose vision was to bring
to Polokwane, a reliable, quality oriented building & hardware store that takes pride in customer
service and value for money.
In 1986, the management team was expanded when Mr. Sakoor's two sons joined the business. The
first store was established in Paul Kruger Street in Polokwane and in 1995 the company acquired
additional land in Dahl Street where we opened a warehouse. We continued to grow from strength
to strength and four years later, we bought the land opposite the Dahl Street Warehouse where we
opened a second retail store. By now the company employed 25 people.
Subsequently the company has grown its turnover by over 100% and currently employs
over 80 people. Bargain House is strategically situated on the outskirts of the Polokwane CBD,
making it convenient for clients to access the store.
b. What we do
Bargain House is a wholesale building materials & hardware store that markets and sells products
to companies in the construction industry. The success of the company is attributed to the owners
knowledge of the industry and their dedication. To best meet the needs of our target market,
Bargain House has segmented their market, offering a better pricing structure for wholesale clients,
a payment plan, and a different offering to retail clients.
In striving to live up to the ambition of our original founder, of establishing a community store that
prides itself on customer service, the current owner focuses heavily on customer satisfaction.
Bargain House has been instrumental in empowering emerging BBBEE contractors who have
won contracts to build RDP homes, schools & hospitals. In total, the company has successfully
supplied contractors the building materials that have built over 10 000 RDP Homes, 30 - 40
Schools and 6 Clinics.
We are a major wholesaler of the best branded cement available, selling over 100 000 bags per
month.

Management & Ownership
a. Directors
The directors of the company are Mr. M.A.Y. Abdul Aziz (Yahya) and Mr. A.M. Aziz Ismail (Muta).
Both have over 20 years management experience in the hardware and building supply industry,
and have contributed directly to the growth of the company.
b. BBBEE
We have contributed to the empowerment of emerging BBBEE contractors by offering payment
plans for building material purchased. We also offer the best advice, highest quality products at the
best prices to BBBEE Contractors.
