Celtic Knot Pillow
Notes: This pillow is just a very long tube, stuffed and cleverly
woven around itself to form a knot. It’s easiest to stuff the tube
with toy stuffing as you knit. Don’t stuff the tube too tightly; the
tube needs to bend. If the thought of a 100 inch tube is less than
appealing to you, make several shorter lengths, stuff them, then
graft the ends together to make one long tube.
Weave in ends as you go.
Yarn is held double throughout.
Directions
With yarn held double, cast on 36 sts provisionally if you want
to graft later, or using the long-tail cast on if you plan to seam.
Divide over needles of your choice and join to work in the round,
being careful not to twist.
Work in stockinette stitch (knit every round), lightly stuffing as
you go, until tube measures 100 inches. Leave sts live; weave
pillow together and test length before binding off.
Finishing
Weave tube into pillow according to instructions. Adjust loops for
evenness. You may need to knit a couple more inches or rip out a
couple of inches to make the pillow lay properly.
