introduction
Whether you're a football fan cheering on your favorite high school team from the
bleachers, a baseball fan rooting on the home team in a stadium, or a soccer fan in
the front row on the field, you'll want to stay warm while watching the game. And
what better way than in your team colors!
These basic patterns for a hat, blanket and scarf use two colors; however, if your
team has more colors, they are easily customizable. Mighty Stitch is the perfect
yarn for this set - warm, washable and soft - but feel free to substitute your favorite
worsted weight yarn. Any way you make it is a win!
Also included are suggested Mighty Stitch colors for NFL and MLB teams. For other
teams, including school and college teams, check their website for their official
colors to make the perfect set to cheer them on!

Sporty Lap Blanket
Notes:
This lap blanket has a stockinette stitch center that is surrounded
by a border of garter stitch; you will knit the top and bottom
border on, while the sides are picked up and knit. Slipping stiches
creates an easy way to pick up those stitches.
Bind off very loosely; you may find it easier to bind off with a
larger needle.
Pick your favorite team colors and go!
Directions
With MC, loosely CO 126 sts.
Bottom Border
Row 1 (RS): Sl1 P-wise, K across row.
Rep for 19 more rows, ending with a WS row.
Break MC.
Body
Change to C1.
Row 1 (RS): Sl1 P-wise, K across row.
Row 2 (WS): Sl1 P-wise, P across row.
Rep these 2 rows another 11 times (24 rows total).
Break C1.
Rep these 2 sections 3 more times.
Change to C1.
Rep Rows 1-2 12 times (24 rows total). Break C1.
Top Border
Change to MC
Repeat Bottom Border ending with a WS row, do not break yarn.
RS: BO 125 sts very loosely, leaving one st on needle. Do not turn
work.
Side Borders
With RS still facing up, rotate project clockwise so the Sl st
selvedge is facing up. PU & K each Sl st along side.
K all sts for 20 rows.
BO all sts very loosely.
Turn project with RS and Sl sts of other edge facing up. Rejoin

Sporty Scarf
Notes:
This scarf is knit as a tube in the round, with purl stitches along
the edges to make it easier to lay flat. After the body is complete,
the edges are sewn up.
Pick your favorite team colors and go!
Directions
With MC, CO 74 sts, leaving a long tail to sew up scarf. PM, join in
the round, being careful not to twist sts.
Rnd 1: K 36, P1, K 36, P1.
Rep Rnd 1 for 4” (24 rnds total). Break MC.
Change to C1.
Rep Rnd 1 for 4” (24 rnds total). Break C1.
Rep these 2 sections 6 more times.
Change to MC.
Rep Rnd 1 for 4” (24 rnds total).
BO all sts, leaving a long tail to sew up edge.
Finishing
Weave in all ends, except for the CO and BO tails. Fold tube in
half, using the lines of P sts as guide to lay scarf flat. Using long
tails, seam the CO edges together and repeat on the BO edge to
close scarf. Weave in remaining ends, wash and block.

Sporty Stocking Hat
Notes:
This hat is knit in the round from the bottom up in stockinette
stitch. The folded brim is made with a purl round, which creates
a double thick brim to keep your ears extra warm. Complete the
hat with a large pom-pom!
Pick your favorite team colors and go!
Stockinette Stitch (St st, worked in the round over any number
of sts)
All Rnds: Knit.
Directions
With MC and smaller needles, loosely CO 70 (75, 85) sts. PM and
join to work in the Rnd, being careful not to twist sts.
Work 12 rnds of St st.
Change to C1, P 1 rnd (brim turning Rnd).
Change to MC, work 12 rnds of St st.
Turn brim under at turning Rnd, with wrong sides facing together.
Hold CO edge parallel to sts on needle. Insert right needle in first
st in the rnd, PU first CO st, then work both sts together as a
K2tog. Continue in this manner for entire Rnd.
Change to larger needles and C1.
Next Rnd: *K13 (14 16), KFB; rep from * all around. 5 sts inc, 75
(80, 90) sts total.
K with C1 for 9 rows. Break C1.
Change to MC.
K with MC for 10 rows. Break MC.

pompom and attach to hat using long tail.
