Speed Management and Safe Crossing on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway (N2) in Bangladesh

Project Outcomes
The project has been fruitful in reducing excessive speed of the vehicle to moderate one <strong>and</strong>
hence improving overall crash situation. The following section will highlight the achievements of
the project in brief.
6.1 Travel speed
During baseline survey <strong>and</strong> previous crash pattern analysis, it has been proved that inter <strong>and</strong>
intra district Bus, Car <strong>and</strong> Truck were the main causes of crash whereas slow <strong>and</strong> vulnerable road
user like pedestrians <strong>and</strong> slow motorized vehicles are the worst victims of these killer vehicles.
Reduction of operating speed in the project areas are illustrated in following figures 6.1.
