4.2.3. Physical work plan by contractor
M/S Taher Enterprise, the contractor submitted a work schedule for the project before
starting construction. Necessary preparation <strong>and</strong> deployment of resources for the ensuing
best construction organized prior to construction.
4.2.4 Road inspection <strong>and</strong> condition survey
For better Construction <strong>and</strong> project sustainability, several road inspections done with the
help of RHD, local <strong>and</strong> foreign expert.
4.2.4.1 Survey by CIPRB & RHD
For proper estimation <strong>and</strong> quality control, a survey was conducted with the help of Narsingdi
RHD in all project location through level machine. The construction estimation was made
based on this survey report.
4.2.4.2 Road inspection by CIPRB & <strong>Safe</strong> <strong>Crossing</strong>s
For road condition survey, a two days exclusive road side inspection survey was done with
the presence of representative of <strong>Safe</strong> <strong>Crossing</strong>s <strong>and</strong> CIPRB representative. It helped to get
proper underst<strong>and</strong>ing of local feature <strong>and</strong> required action to make safer road for traffic.
4.2.4.3 Design layout marking by CIPRB <strong>and</strong> Taher Enterprise
After completing all pre-requisite activities for contractor selection, layout of the proposed
design was being established in all three locations with the association of representative
from Taher Enterprise. It was helpful to get proper underst<strong>and</strong>ing of the intervention items.
4.2.5 Top supervision <strong>and</strong> monitoring by RHD
According to project management plan, Roads <strong>and</strong> Highways Department (RHD) acted as a
top supervisor. They were actively involved in design verification, intervention modification,
field survey, quality control of construction, cooperation in community involvement <strong>and</strong>
construction safety assurance.
Their overall participation <strong>and</strong> strong support in all phase of implementation ensured better
site management <strong>and</strong> ownership creation among the stake holders. The contribution for RHD,
especially from Narsingdi Roads Division is highly appreciating <strong>and</strong> a pioneer role from a
government agency.
