be on roads by 2035. Goodyear sees the IntelliGrip sensor-packed tire concept performing a key
role in communicating driving information to other drivers. The sensor smart algorithms would
perform a range of functions: sense pavement and surrounding road conditions, weather
circumstances, monitor tires for wear, and monitor air inflation levels. Linked to GPS and
telematics devices, the tire could also perform smart city tasks such as mapping street potholes,
and providing real-time data to city transportation departments for repair.
