MATERIALS<br />

High-grade spring steel of selected surface condition. Most<br />

commonly used are C-1075 or SAE 6150 chrome vanadium<br />

steel. Other alloy steels are also used. We use 17-7Ph<br />

stainless for corrosion resistance. It is slightly magnetic.<br />

HARDNESS<br />

Disc springs are carefully heat treated with austempering<br />

process, and in such a manner as to prevent surface decarburization.<br />
