Professional
Development
As a fraternity member, you’ll
join vast network of established,
influential global leaders in a variety
of industries and professions.
Although being a Cornellian
already opens up incredible career
opportunities, the professional
benefits for Greeks are even more
vast. Every year, countless fraternity
members land internships and
jobs from fellow fraternity alumni
members. Further, many fraternities
host alumni career series, resume
critiques and mock interviews, and
alumni networking events.
Friendship
One of the greatest benefits of
joining a fraternity is the lifelong
friendships that you’ll form with your
brothers. Through all the challenges
that you’ll face at Cornell, from
tough prelims to job interviews, your
brothers will always have your back
every step of the way. These lifelong
friendships create numerous
opportunities for networking and
social interaction, even long after
graduation.
Diversity & Inclusion
At Cornell, there is truly a fraternity
for everyone. The IFC and all of our
chapters strongly value diversity
and inclusion, and the membership
of our chapters represents many
dimensions of diversity. We
welcome and celebrate students
of all backgrounds, identities, and
experiences—regardless of race,
ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual
orientation, gender identity, gender
expression, socioeconomic status,
or disability.
Social
While fraternity members pride
themselves for their excellence in
scholarship, leadership, and service,
there are ample opportunities for
fun and relaxation as a Greek at
Cornell. From brotherhood events
to formals, fraternity members bond
with one another and meet students
in other Greek organizations.
Balancing work with an active
social life is a skill Greeks take with
them beyond college and into the
working world.
Tradition: Since 1865
When the University was founded
in 1865, Ezra Cornell and Andrew
Dickson White believed that all
students should be involved in a
fraternal organization. Ever since,
Greek life has played an integral
role in the student experience on
the Hill. When you join a fraternity at
Cornell, you are joining a community
that is as established and storied as
the University itself.
