As the third largest and most diverse fraternity community in the nation, our fraternities will offer you an unforgettable college experience! Academics Community Service Fraternity members are driven to succeed in the classroom. On average, the average GPA of an <strong>IFC</strong> fraternity member is consistently higher than that of a non-Greek at Cornell. To ensure academic growth, each chapter prides itself on strong peer and alumni support. From peer mentoring programs and workshops on time management to study hours and study groups, your fraternity will equip you with the tools to achieve academic excellence. Leadership A fraternity is the ideal place for students to develop their leadership skills. Fraternities are the only self-governing organizations on campus that allow students to truly shape the future of their groups. Perhaps that’s why 85% of the student leaders on more than 800 campuses are involved in fraternities and sororities. At Cornell, each chapter offers a wide range of chapter leadership opportunities, as well as leadership retreats, guest lecturers, and scholarships. Last year, Cornell fraternity members contributed more than $200,000 to local, national, and global causes and donated thousands of hours to community service to countless projects. Cornell fraternities host countless fundraising events for nonprofit organizations and coordinate volunteer work in the local community. Greeks Give Back is our community’s largest annual day of service, in which hundreds of fraternity and sorority members unite to volunteer for local organizations and causes, from Ithaca Welcomes Refugees to the Boys and Girls Club of Tompkins County. 4
