to my fellow Welcome to <strong>IFC</strong> Recruitment! We are thrilled that you are interested in learning more about the fraternity experience at Cornell. Your time at Cornell will likely be filled with amazing experiences. To make the most of your college experience, I strongly encourage you to explore Cornell’s fraternity community. Our fraternity system is truly unlike any other—with the third largest Greek community in the nation, two co-ed fraternities, and over 30 countries represented throughout our 36 chapters, we truly believe that there is a fraternity for everyone at Cornell. As a fraternity member, you’ll experience innumerable opportunities and benefits unique to the Greek experience. From community service and leadership opportunities, to academic support and professional development, going Greek will allow you to form lifelong friendships with your peers while growing as an individual. Specifically, our fraternities provide means for you to excel socially, academically, and professionally, as well as opportunities for incredible leadership positions. The average GPA of an <strong>IFC</strong> fraternity member is consistently higher than that of a non-Greek Cornellian. We take great pride in this achievement, as it is unique to only a few universities across the nation. Additionally, joining a fraternity provides an excellent academic support network including tutoring, academic advisors, and study hours. When I arrived at Cornell, I had absolutely no intention of joining a fraternity. However, as I met fraternity members on campus who were extremely involved on campus and eager to learn more about me, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to learn more about the fraternity community. Whether you are unsure about joining or completely certain, I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity to meet new people and expand your network. Looking back at my years at Cornell, I cannot imagine my college experience without the friends and brothers I have met by joining a fraternity. No matter what you may be looking to gain during your college experience, there is a fraternity that will fit your needs. Fraternity recruitment holds no obligations, and recruitment events are designed to be an informal and relaxed way to meet new people. Above all else, I encourage you to be yourself and have fun. I look forward to seeing you at recruitment events, and I hope that we will share the same extraordinary undergraduate experience throughout your time at Cornell University.
