“I opened four or five of their restaurants up in San Francisco and then wound up in
Torrance opening a Victoria’s Station in Torrance and they became a big company and
got very corporate,” Hennessey said.
Victoria’s Station had
established about 90
locations and in 1976
Hennessey decided he
wanted a restaurant of his
own.
Hennessey stands with the original 1976 menu.
“I had always wanted my own business so I was looking around and I just found this
little place in Hermosa Beach,” he said.
It was only 1,500 square feet and very underfunded but it was the beginning of his
restaurant empire.
“There was certainly not enough money and I was pretty much the only employee for
nine months so I just worked day and night seven days a week,” He said.
