The Republic of Ireland is south of
Northern Ireland. It isn’t part of the
UK. It’s famous for its beauty. Ireland
has got lakes, mountains, beautiful
beaches and some interesting cities, too.
Dublin, the capital city, is in the
north-east. It’s an exciting place with
lots of things to do. There’s a castle
in the centre. Lots of people go to
language schools in Dublin to learn
English. It’s also a very young city,
with lots of young people.
Cork, in the south-west, is smaller.
People in Cork are very friendly and
you can hear very good music in the
pubs and the streets. Near the city
there are beaches for swimming and
surfing. It’s a good place to start
visiting the rest of the country.
You can go to Ireland by plane, but
why not go by boat from Wales? It’s
fun to arrive by boat!
