If you’re a fan of the world’s<br />

grea<strong>test</strong> detective, Sherlock<br />

Holmes, why not visit his house<br />

next time you’re in London? Today<br />

221B Baker Street is a museum.<br />

When you walk into the rooms in<br />

the house, you step back 150<br />

years in time!<br />

The study, where Holmes worked,<br />

is on the first floor. You can sit in<br />

his armchair next to the fire and<br />

look out of the window. Many of<br />

Holmes’s personal things are in<br />

the study: his violin, his pipe and<br />

hat. Upstairs is Dr Watson’s<br />

bedroom. Here you can read the<br />

diary Dr Watson wrote when he<br />

lived with Holmes. You can also<br />

visit the library.<br />

The museum is open every day<br />

except Christmas Day, from<br />

9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The price is<br />

£6 for adults and £4 for children.<br />
