Inca Trail 2d /1n
The trek starts at Km104 (104 kilometers
along the railway from Cusco) and involves a
four hour walk uphill to Wiñay Wayna and a
couple of hours further to Machu Picchu
making it ideal for trekkers wanting to
experience at least a part of the Inca Trail
but haven't got the time (or energy) to
complete the full 4 day trek. According to
new Peru regulations, you must employ the
services of a professional guide or trek as
part of an organized tour group.

The trek is rated moderate and any
reasonably fit person should be able to
cover the route. It is fairly challenging
nevertheless, and altitudes of 4200m are
reached, so ensuring that you are well
acclimatized is important. If arriving from sea
level, plan to spend at least 2 full days in
Cusco (3 days is better) prior to commencing
the trek. This should allow plenty of time for
acclimatization
