Union School District 81 serves the educational needs of students<br />
enrolled in kindergarten through 8th grade. The professional staff<br />
is committed to providing students with the knowledge, skills, and<br />
opportunities to “compete in an ever-changing global community”.<br />
The Union Board of Education and Administration are committed<br />
to the taxpayers as well.<br />
Union School District 81 has the highest financial rating in the<br />
state (recognition) while providing an education that includes<br />

Higher Education Institutions<br />
Residents of New Lenox enjoy quality higher education close to<br />
home. Joliet Junior College (JJC), established in 1901, is the<br />
nation’s oldest community college. JJC offers classes at several<br />
convenient locations, including Lincoln-Way High School.<br />
Additionally, the University of St. Francis in Joliet, St. Xavier<br />
University in Orland Park and Lewis University in Romeoville<br />
provide both bachelor and masters degree programs.<br />
