The new Community sports and Events Center will provide a common destination for cultural, social,
fitness and athletic events, making our community a destination for families to work, play
and live. The facility will feature a community hall with court sport availability, a turf sports building
with an indoor walking and running area, and an expo hall and indoor ice rink. In addition,
there is space for community support programming, meetings and parties.
Contributions are being accepted in many forms. Visit the City of Marinette website,
www.marinette.wi.us and follow the links to donate or learn more about this community project!

Don’t let inclement weather ruin your walking
or running routine! Walk or run indoors!
Indoor walking is available at the Civic Center
Monday—Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M..
or whenever tennis players are not utilizing
the courts. 10 1/2 laps around the dome
equal one mile. There is no charge, as the
dome is not heated for walking or running.

The Civic Center Indoor Ice Rink is open October 24 through March 19. The indoor, artificially-cooled
ice rink is an olympic-sized rink. Skates are available for rent, and skate sharpening is available.
There will be no open skate the weekend of December 2, 3 and 4 due to a hockey tournament being
held at the rink.

Packages are available during any open skate period, or on
Fridays from 5:00-6:30 PM or Saturdays from 4-5:30 PM.
Packages include skating admission, skate rentals, a
personalized 1/4 sheet birthday cake, juice, plates, cups,
forks, napkins and use of the party room. Payment must
be received at the time reservations are made—sorry, no
phone reservations.
Fees: $70 for 1-9 children, $75 for 10-14 children, $80 for
15-19 children. $6 each additional child.
B e g i n n e r I c e S k a t i n g L e s s o n s
Beginner lessons for ages four and up, held on Mondays at
4:00 PM. Lessons are 30 minutes in length, with fifteen
minutes of practice to follow, concluding at 4:45 PM.
November 14-December 19.
Residents $32.00, Non-residents $42.00
Fees include the use of rental skates, if needed. Children
may use either figure or hockey skates, but no double-bladed
skates.

Courts are available year-round at the Civic Center
Domes. The court rate is $28.00 per hour, per court for
adults, and $16.00 per hour , per court for students.

Tennis passes cover court fees for the passholder only,

Tennis Lessons are offered for ages four through adult at the
Civic Center Domes. All lesson programs are directed by experienced
tennis players. The cost for youth lessons is
$23.00 for city residents, and $40.00 for non-residents.

Two courts inside the Civic Center Domes as well as the two courts
located at Division Street are marked for Pickle Ball. Regular court
fees apply at the Civic Center, and there is no charge for use of the
outdoor courts at Division Street. Official rules for Pickle Ball can be
found at www.pickleball.com/Rules.aspx. Paddles are available for
use at the Civic Center courts—ask at the front desk.

October:
Halloween Costume Sale—Still hanging onto those old Halloween costumes? Let us help you free up
some storage space! Bring your unwanted costumes or accessories to the Civic Center anytime between
now and October 1 with your name and asking price clearly marked on an envelope that you attach to the
costume. Items will then be available for sale daily at the Civic Center, 2000 Alice Lane, until Monday,
October 19. There is no commission charge. Your asking price is what you will receive. Unsold costumes
need to be picked up by Friday, October 24 or they will be donated to local charities.
Kids’ Night Out at the Duer Gym—Friday, October 21, 6:00-9:00 PM. This month’s theme is
“Halloween”, of course, and we’ll be having a hauntingly good time! Arts and crafts and activities,
games, a movie and snacks for ages 5 and up. $5.00 per child. Pre-register at the Civic Center.
Halloween Dance and Skate Party—Friday, October 28, 7-10 PM at the Civic Center Ice Rink.
Admission is $5.00 per person, plus skate rentals, if needed. Five Star DJ will provide the music.
Come in costume and be eligible for a prize! (Masks will not be permitted for safety reasons.)
November:
Kids’ Night Out at the Duer Gym — Friday, November 18, 6:00-9:00 PM. Let’s be Thankful
together and celebrate the season with arts and crafts and activities, a movie and snacks for ages 5
and up. $5.00 per child. Pre-register at the Civic Center.
Thanksgiving Dance & Skate Party—Friday, November 25, 7-10 PM at the Civic Center Ice Rink
with Five Star DJ. Admission $5.00 per person, plus skate rentals, if needed. Wear blaze orange
to be entered in a drawing for prizes!
December:
Kids’ Night Out at the Duer Gym—Friday, December 16, 6:00-9:00 PM. Christmas arts and
crafts, movie, games and snacks for ages 5 and up. $5.00 per child. Pre-register at the Civic
Center.
Skate with Santa Saturday, December 17, 4:00-5:30 PM at the Civic Center Ice Rink. FREE
admission and skate rentals, Classic holiday fun!
Holiday Dance & Skate Party—Friday, December 23, 7-10 PM at the Civic Center Ice Rink with
Five Star DJ. $5.00 per person, plus skate rentals, if needed. Wear a Santa Hat to enter into the
prize drawing!
B e n d a n d S t r e t c h E x e r c i s e C l a s s
This long-standing class features flexibility and floor exercises along with the use of light weights
and is held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 AM under the instruction of Judy
Sitek. Class is held at the Duer Gym, 402 Williams Street, Marinette.
