raftsman Alan Johnson is located in New Zealand’s rural North
Island, surrounded by the scenery made famous in Lord of the
Rings and The Hobbit movies.
Alan has spent the last forty years inventing, designing and refining
eco-friendly solutions for farmers, home owners and art collectors.
Ultimate Shower evolved organically when Alan was constructing
a weight-bearing column for an architect who wanted to feature
recycled wood in an unusual way.
As well as creating a beautiful alternative to traditional pillars, Alan simultaneously devised an
original and stylish free-standing shower that can be located anywhere at all - and no walls are
required.
Not only is Ultimate Shower an innovative, efficient and beautiful bathroom addition, it is an
enduring and functional piece of art for your dream home, ski chalet, beach house or yacht.

into the bathroom.
Every bespoke Ultimate Shower is
crafted from specially selected wood,
each with its own grain and colouring,
so that no two showers are the same.
Alan produces single and double shower
options and he works closely with his
customers to ensure their individual style
is reflected in each design.
As well as providing the client with
the choice of their preferred type
of wood, Alan offers the inclusion of
embellishments such as gold, paua,
mother of pearl or copper.

One of a Kind
The individual character of the wood used in Ultimate Shower
is what makes every shower unique; each has its own variance
of colour, grain and warmth, allowing you to choose exactly the
right look to suit your decor.
Once Alan has sourced your preferred timber, he’ll start putting
your shower together - a slow and careful process that is largely
done by hand, using up to 66 individual strips of wood.
After the shower unit has been assembled, it is then sealed with
up to thirty layers of a high-sheen, waterproof coating, similar
to the marine finish on the Riva boat.
Then the shower heads are added — these are available in
overhead, hand-held or one of each — followed by the mixer
tap, with your choice of chrome, stainless steel or gold plate.
Finally, Alan carefully packs the completed shower in its special
travel case and brings your Ultimate Shower to its new location;
personal delivery ensures your bathroom showpiece arrives in
perfect condition.
Alan is then on hand to assist and advise on installation as
required.
Ultimate Shower is
available in single or
double shower head,
either fixed or hand-held.
The double unit can
accommodate a
combination of hand-held
and fixed shower heads.
Fittings can be supplied in
chrome, stainless steel or
gold plate.
The hand-held eco-shower
is available in chrome.
The celing cornice is
available in gold plate or
can be painted to suit your
decor.

Technical Specifications
Ultimate Shower is designed to stand from floor to ceiling, up to 3 metres
high.
Mains pressure via overhead piping is required and for the double shower,
two inward pipes are recommended for maximum pressure.
Ultimate Shower is personally delivered to its new home with on-site
installation advice provided as required.
