Eckhart Tolzman
Dear Pam and VINE Faith in Action,
How does one begin to express proper thanks to your staff
and volunteers for being so giving, so caring, so loving? Pam,
the first time we met in Dad’s living room in his apartment
on Holly Lane in 1997, little did we know what a long and
deep relationship he would have with VINE. He viewed you,
Pam, as a friend. In fact, your phone number was right next
to mine and his volunteers, Marv and Marcie.
And what can I say about the long and meaningful
friendship he had with Marv and Marcie? Oh, how he
loved them. He thought of them as family, always keeping
them in his prayers. They were so loyal in their visits to him
throughout the years. What a joy they brought to him.
VINE will always be very special in my heart. God bless
you and all of your organization for doing God’s work on
earth, here in the Mankato area.

Note: Eckhart Tolzman passed away in September 2008 at the
age of 103 years. For the past eleven years, volunteers provided
weekly visits, transportation and support to Ginny, his daughter
and caregiver. When Eck moved to the nursing home two years
ago, volunteers Marv Moret and Marcie Wahl continued to
make weekly visits until his death. Marv was proud to serve as
a pallbearer and to take “one last ride” with his dear friend.
