John O’Hara deliberately registered to vote using his girlfriend’s
address so that he could continue to vote and run for office in his
old district. District lines were changed in 1992 during redistricting,
prompting O’Hara to use the address, despite it not being his
permanent residence. He was sentenced to 1,500 hours of community
service and fined $20,000.
Las Vegas resident, Biqui Diana Parra Rodriguez illegally obtained
personal information of Mary Lou Aguirre and falsely registered to vote
under her name in 2011 and in 2012. She was caught through the use of
photo ID cards and facial recognition software that identified the two
IDs she had obtained under different names. She ultimately pleaded
guilty to two felony counts of voter registration fraud and identity theft.
