TECHNICAL DATA SHEET SOLIDWEAR HP 500 11 August 2016, Rev 2 SOLIDWEAR HP 500 WEARING COMPOUND High Performance standart set Wearing Compound 10kg Part number: 4KSWHP5KIT10 DESCRIPTION SolidWEAR HP 500 is a quick set high performance technically advanced wearing compound containing graded high density ceramic fillers, providing excellent wear resistance, impact and chemical resistance a long lasting lining to plant and equipment subject to a high degree of abrasive wear. It is ideal for protecting high wearing areas caused by fine slurries. Contains fine crushed angular fillers for optimum packing and wear resistance. Benefits: Excellent acid ( up to 50% Sulphuric acid ) and alkali resistance. Extends life of costly plant and components. Easy to mix and apply. It conforms and spreads easily into tight corners and curved surfaces. Can be applied to vertical and overhead surfaces and areas in which compound shapes or difficult access make the application of other wearing materials impractical. Water smoothable – Lightly wetting trowel or gloved hand gives a smooth finish. Rapid Cure- Normally ready to use in 18 hrs hours at 25 deg C- less if heat is applied. Excellent adhesion to metal and other surfaces under adverse conditions including damp surfaces. Good low temperature cure down to 5 Degrees C and excellent corrosion resistance. Uses: Any plant and equipment subject to erosion caused by abrasion from process materials. Common areas of application are feed chutes, spigots, pipe elbows, slurry lines, hoppers, chests, settling tanks, cyclones pump casings ect. Substrate requirements: Surfaces to be clean, dry and free of rust or mill scale. Grit blasting SA2.5 is recommended. If mechanical grinding is used ensure that prepared surface has a rough profile. Application: Using a steel trowel or gloved hand apply compound at 4mm-6mm thickness or as specified. Wipe smooth with hands, which are slightly wet with soapy water. Any mixed material will become unusable after 40 minutes. To accelerate curing time post cure after compound has gardened by heating to about 40 Degrees C for 30 minutes.
