Near-record enrolment growth in fall 2015

Of recent graduates responding to the “EMU
New Graduates Employment Status Survey”
conducted between January 13 and March 4,
2016, were either emplyed in some capacity
or not seeking employment (e.g., full-time
caregiver, full-time graduate student). The
survey measures Eastern Michigan University
students who graduated in the year 2015.
EMU celebrated its first graduation class
of physicion assistants April 23. The
program prepares graduates to be certified
and llicensed to practice medicine using
autonomous decision making under the
supervision of a physician. There is a high
demand for physician assistants, as they help
fill the gap in a projected shortage of primary
care physicians, and can practice in virtually
any medical specialty.
