At City Schoolyard Garden, we have a
vision: that young people thrive with the
opportunity to engage with nature, to
enhance their academic learning through
hands-on experience and to cultivate skills
for healthy living. We are partnering with
local individuals and businesses that share
this vision and align with our values of
youth empowerment, equity, discovery,
health, ecological care, partnership and
community. In addition to the benefits of
garden exploration, evaluations of CSG
have shown that key to our impact, are
the on-the-ground educators at each of our
eight gardens. Our educators build strong
relationships with youth that deepen
positive youth development impacts.
City Schoolyard Garden is an independent
non-profit. Our impacts rely on the
generous support of individuals and
businesses in the Charlottesville
community as well as local, state and
federal funders. We partner with
Charlottesville City Schools and dozens
of local organizations.
