Creek Fest Music Festival 2016 will
be a party in the pasture.
Each summer Cherokee, IA,
hosts one of the biggest music festival
in N’West Iowa. The two-day event
features some of the best country
artists in the music industry. Before
the festival even kicks off, Walker Mc-
Guire will perform Thursday, July 28.
The festival officially begins Friday,
July 29, with Farewell Angelina
performing at 4:30 p.m. The lineup
continues with Joe Diffie and Granger
Smith featuring Earl Dibbles Jr.
Chase Rice will close out the evening
with his performance at 10 p.m.
On Saturday, July 30, Tim Montana
and The Shrednecks start the
afternoon at 4:30 p.m. followed by
Elle King and Chris Janson. The most

highly anticipated act of the weekend,
Kid Rock, will be on stage at 10 p.m.
General admission tickets are $85
and will cover all concerts and events
both Friday and Saturday of the festival.
Although there isn’t seating, fans
are welcome to bring their own lawn
chairs. Standing room is at a firstcome,
first-served basis for all performances.
Camping is available and is conveniently
located next to all of the
weekend’s festivities.
Renting a weekend space for a tent
is a $75 fee and $125 for an RV. If
you purchase a Creekside VIP pass, all
campers are welcome to rent a space
as early as Monday, July 25.
Jimmie Harms, director and organizer
of Creek Fest, said that he has
made several exciting additions to this
year’s festival. Beginning Friday at 10
a.m., guests are able to go on a helicopter
ride for $30 per person. The helicopter
rides will be offered until Saturday
evening. The annual zip line is
now located next to the campground
for easier access. A country store, with
personal hygiene essentials, snacks
and Creek Fest merchandise, has also
been added to the campground.
To Harms, this year’s Creek Fest is
the biggest summer event in N’West
Iowa and no one will want to miss it.
“The campground sets everything
else apart with it’s laidback, fun atmosphere,”
said Harms. “The energy of
the audience at each concert is really
unlike any place else and you’re going
to want to be there.” F
