Biodata: Adele studied at Glasgow School of Art (GSA) in the 1980s. She taught Gender, Art and
Culture Studies in the Historical and Critical Studies Department at the GSA and gained a PhD in
Media Studies in 2004 at the University of Stirling. Her research focus was on ‘feminine excess’ and
the convergence of femininity, feminism, class and race. She has been involved in research and
