WE ALWAYS NEED GLOVES
Please help us keep our volunteers safe preparing
meat for our rescues. We use SafeTouch Nitrile
Exam Gloves Non Latex, Powder Free,
All Sizes, Please!
Organic coconut oil as a supplement for some of
our rescues due to its amazing health benefits…
and we go through a lot of it! Our Westeros
Packs especially love their coconut meatballs!
We give Duralactin Plus to many of our older
rescues twice a day for long term management
of arthritis or other chronic joint/hip issues.
It really works!
We give Dasuquin to manage and help prevent
joint problems in our wolves and wolf-dogs.
We love it and they all appreciate it!
We must replace all our fire extinguishers in all
volunteer housings, offices, lodgings, and other
buildings as soon as possible!
It is vital for our volunteer housing and all our
main buildings to have one of these detectors
as soon as possible!
We love the bulk paper towels from Costco!
PLUS WE ALWAYS NEED:
Ziploc bags (gallon and quart sized)
White Distilled Vinegar (gallon sized)
Dawn Dishwashing Soap
Shaggy-Dog
Our rescue Shaggydog is one of a family
of 11 high-content wolf-dogs we rescued
from a failing breeding facility where
they languished in tiny, filthy cages with
cement or plywood floors. No one had
touched them for over three years, and
no one remembered their names. They
all had various health issues from years
of neglect and possible inbreeding including
weak bones and misaligned
jaws. A few years earlier, long-time supporter,
Parris McBride-Martin, asked us
Wolf Den Lodge
if she could make a donation toward
naming a rescue after a character in
her famous husband’s books. This once
forgotten pack seemed like the perfect
choice. And so, our long suffering family
became our Westeros Pack and their
lives utterly transformed under the care
of the Martins.
We noticed that Shaggydog was limping
and a trip to the vet revealed that
the bones in his toe were deteriorating.
That toe was removed but the biopsy
was inconclusive. We watched him
closely, and sadly, he was not getting
better. Finding that another of his toes
began to deteriorate as well, our vet
thought it safest to leave him with three
good legs and further testing did not
show any other sign of disease. Shaggydog
healed beautifully and returned
to his brothers Summer and Jon Snow,
and sister Shae and is getting around
very well. Team Wild Spirit would like to
howl out our most heart-felt thank you
to Pack Mama, Parris, for covering Shaggydog’s
vet bill! We love you, Parris!
