Snow Pond Symphony 2016 Season

Adult Education
We believe group classes and ensembles are important opportunities for adults. Current programs include our steel drum
band The Snow Pond Pantasticks, singing classes, African Drumming workshops and Brazilian Samba School classes. An
expanded curriculum is being developed which will soon include many more opportunities!
On May 1st, the Snow Pond Pantasticks performed at the
26th Annual New England Steel Drum Festival which was
held in Conway, NH. Nineteen bands from Maine, New
Hampshire and Vermont gathered to perform and share
their love of music from the Caribbean.
Satellite Programs
SPCMS provides onsite
music lessons in piano, voice,
strings and guitar to over 20
Kents Hill School students
during their school day. In April, several of these students
performed in a recital in the Bodman Performing Arts
Center at Kents Hill.
Drumline
Snow Pond Drumline meets at Alfond Youth Center in
Waterville. Drumline focuses on practice pad and snare
drums skills, and will eventually grow in size and scope to
become a full, marching Drum and Bugle Corp. Look for
more Drumline classes this fall!
Pineland Suzuki School at SPCMS offers violin lessons
to students on site at Kennebec Montessori School in
Fairfield. These students enjoy having their lessons after
school, and also participate in Suzuki group classes at
SPCMS in Sidney.
