Attention District Scribes
Columns are due by the 10th of the month. If your news is not in this issue, it was not received at the CGA Office in time for it to be processed. Please provide typed copy for the CGA Newspaper.
Please email your typed copy to us. Please do not fax your copy. Districts may request that the CGA State Office include their winner's list in the column. It is automatically available on
the disk you sent in with your show. Your typed copy can be Emailed to> cgastate@aol.com < Do not format Email copy. Do not create columns for any copy sent to the office.
We will format the copy when it arrives. Please send all news articles by the 10th of the month. Increase the reader appeal of our newspaper by emailing photographs.

Thank you riders, and especially all the Moms who came out to participate in our
May 12 and 13 shows! We decided to give our “Saturday only” riders a chance to
practice the other 6 CGA events and ran set 2. We even switched up the order so
that everyone can be in tip top form for state finals, which are rapidly approaching!
San Juan Bautista decided to keep us nice and cool all day, first with fog, then with
wind! Oh well, it was better then 100 degree heat! Janice Rowels and her riders
where happy that it was “just like home” and said they couldn’t wait to ride.
Speaking of the Rowels...Christopher Rowels, our CGA Vice President made the trip
this weekend and it was great to see him. Thanks for all the help and for representing
the Board of Directors. Rick, Susan and Jessica Townsend made the LONG trip
to (5 hours) so that Jess could ride Poco. She must be doing something right, that
horse is on fire!!!! Thank you for helping all day too! We were also glad to welcome
back Brandi Mount on her new horse Boon. Happy you’re back in the saddle
Brandi! Madison Jeske also made her debut on Sir Lance A Luke; Madi’s horse,
Alibi, was injured last fall and we are so happy that you and Luke found each other
(now Alibi has a boyfriend too!).
Our high point and reserve for Saturday was Tractor Supply Gift Cards. Something
we all can use!

All in all we had a great show! Had lots of outstanding rides but we had two major
accomplishments at our Saturday show....
Jaime Tsuji completed her 5th consecutive HALL OF FAME!!!! That makes her a
ROYAL CROWN RIDER & Awesome Possum a SUPREME CHAMPION HORSE!!!
Congratulations Jaime from all of us at District 1! We are proud to have helped you
through the years and happy that your final ride was at District 1!!!!! It just goes to
show that no matter how many times you earn this honor, it’s still an amazing
accomplishment!
Also, congratulations are in order to Sami Mount for earning her AAA Top Rating
jacket today! You & Tobo are making quite the team!!!! Way to go Sami!!!!!! Glad we
ran those setups to help. Are you going to have Tammy “bling” it out???

Sunday morning was once again cool but the riders (and their Moms) still came out
to ride. Who wouldn’t want to spend their Mother’s Day at a Gymkhana?!?!?
Chrissy Looney thought so and she let her mom, Liz, ride her horse Ozzie all day.
Jennifer Galindo-Cole offered Rio (Senior Don Julio) for Chrissy to ride so she and
her mom could ride together. They had a blast. Liz had a smile from ear to ear after
each ride! Bekah Bueno and Dotty came to ride on Sunday too. They were very
happy that we were running Set 1 since they can only make it on Sundays due to
Bekah playing softball.
Our high point for Sunday were beautiful flowers that the riders could give to their
Moms, since it was Mother’s Day after all! Thank you Tiffany Martin for getting
those for us.

We also handed out long stemmed red roses to each and every Mom on Sunday,
courtesy of 2 G Roses. They smelled so good and all of the mom’s were grateful!
Saturday we congratulated Sami Mount for earning her AAA top rating jacket and
today Nina Harrison earned her AA top rating jacket! (hmm wasn’t it just a few
weeks ago we congratulated you for earning your A jacket??? Guess Sherman likes
to go a little faster!). Glad to see all your hard work is paying off! Congratulations
Show Dad Steve too; we love to hear you cheer her on!!!
