THE<br />

BRONTË<br />

SEASON<br />

<strong>The</strong> Brontës immediately conjure images of<br />

wild Yorkshire moors and <strong>the</strong> cobbled streets<br />

of Haworth. On <strong>the</strong> 200 year anniversary of<br />

Charlotte Brontë’s birth, th<strong>is</strong> season<br />

celebrates and reimag<strong>in</strong>es <strong>the</strong> extraord<strong>in</strong>ary<br />

stories <strong>the</strong>y wrote, <strong>the</strong>ir cultural legacy and<br />

<strong>the</strong>ir remarkable, yet tragic lives.<br />

It’s not a time for liv<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> past<br />

or <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> future but liv<strong>in</strong>g fully <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

present. We mark out our significant<br />

moments with anniversaries.<br />

Anchors <strong>in</strong> time.<br />

Anniversary <strong>is</strong> a piece of contemporary<br />

<strong>the</strong>atre created by a group of older<br />

performers. <strong>The</strong>atre that crosses<br />

boundaries effortlessly between<br />

performance art, contemporary<br />

dance, music and personal stories.<br />
