OUR SHAREHOLDERS
The shareholders of Amores Wines come from a variety of
business and winery backgrounds, with some having ownerships
in our principal wineries. Each shareholder brings a wealth of
business acumen and expertise which lends well to their role in
overseeing the management and development of the company.
Many of our shareholders hold prominent positions in the
corporate world covering the construction, banking and legal
sectors but with a passion, expertise and vested interest in the
wine industry.
More importantly, all of the shareholders share a passion for
quality wines and a common quest to seek out the best cellars to
represent in the export markets.
In January 2016, the premium wine company, Vin Doré, became
a shareholder of Amores Wines and brings to the company, a
wealth of experience in the production of luxury beverages
such as its 24k gold Cava Brut Imperial, as well as vast pool
of marketing resources which has facilitated an upsurge of
promotional support for our customers.

COMPANY BACKGROUND
Established in 2008 by a group of winery owners and wine-lovers,
Amores Wines is a quality-driven exporter of Spanish wines with a
growing focus on, and expertise in, the Asian markets. In 2014 we
became an importer in China, establishing our own wine showroom
and warehousing in Shanghai where we keep stocks of our diverse
range of quality wines for widespread distribution in China and Hong
Kong. Our exports to China have risen from 300,000 bottles in 2011
to 2.0 million bottles in 2015 and we expect to double this turnover
in 2016.
With our origins in Jerez, we now represent wineries from all over
Spain and we offer a unique and diverse portfolio that covers all
classes of quality wines, from entry-level to premium wines from
more than ten denominations of origin in Spain, as well as an
exquisite range of Sherries and Brandy from Jerez, and superb Cava
from Penedés.
As our foothold in our target markets grows stronger, a host of
prominent wineries have joined the Amores Wines portfolio for
exclusive representation in the export markets and so our selection
of wines have grown to include a variety of denominations of origin
such as Ribera del Duero, Priorat and Toro. In January 2016, we
incorporated the prestigious Vin Doré company as a shareholder
to the company and we now carry their ultra-premium luxury range
of 24k gold Cava and Sparkling Wine products in our portfolio for
worldwide distribution.

GIRÓ RIBOT
DO.Penedés
Giró Ribot is an internationally renowned cellar and family-run business
with a long historical background of grape growing, liqueur and spirits
production. This winery is situated at the heart of the Denomination
of Origin of Penedès. The geographic area of the Penedès is especially
propitious for the cultivation of the vine. This beautiful area of Catalonia,
halfway between the cities of Barcelona and Tarragona, is bordered to the
south by the Mediterranean Sea and to the north by the spectacular and
remarkable solid mass of Montserrat. Around 26,000 hectares of natural
paradise bear witness to a long and noble historical tradition and a place
where climatic and topographical conditions come together to form an ideal
environment for cultivating and producing wines of the highest quality.
The proximity of the sea ensures mild temperatures. The winters are mild,
the summers only moderately hot and there is not too much rain.
In 1990 the Giró Ribot winery merged with the skilled and experienced
group Remy Cointreau, producers of goods of the highest quality and
also one of the great Champagne-producing groups. The nature of this
harmonious accord between the extensive Champagne culture and distinct
Cava tradition has made possible the creation of wines and Cavas with
unique qualities. In the year 2000, the Giró Ribot family bought shares from
the Remy Cointreau Group, retaining full control of the winery. Their focus,
passed on from generation to generation, has always been quality and
authenticity above all.

VIN DORÉ 24K
24 Carat Gold Dust Wines
Vin Doré 24K has spent years developing the formula that achieves
our luxurious range of Brut Imperial Cava and sparkling wines made
with the purest of 24 carat gold dust, especially elaborated to
enhance your health and to add decadence to each glass.
Unlike other similar products in the market, we make our range of
sparkling wines using only the finest of 24 carat gold pieces which
suspend alongside fine and persistent bubbles and combine in a
perfect balance of sparkle and effervescence.
We elaborate our exquisite selection of super-premium Vin Doré
24K wines in the “Nuestra Señora de Pilar” vineyards in Toledo,
which originate back to the Roman era with a wine culture that
dates back to more than 2000 years ago.
Using local hand-selected grapes and traditional method
vinification for our Cava, we achieve a classic and elegant flavour
profile for all our sparkling wines which is further enhanced with gold
using the most advanced technology to ensure the highest quality is
maintained for every hand-crafted bottle we produce.

HGA BODEGAS
DO.Ribas Baixas, DO.Ribeira Sacra, DO. Monterrei
HGA Bodegas y Viñedos de Altura is a producer of wines from
Galicia, with four wineries covering a number of Denominations of
Origins from this region including Rías Baixas, Ribeiro and Ribeira
Sacra.
Founded in 1975, our model is based on decades of wine-making
experience and we have come to gain the position of one of the most
prestigious wineries in Galicia.
As the winery has grown in stature, we have focused our strategy
on efficiency, innovation and operational solutions that allow us
to maintain the high quality of our wines while our market and our
production grows.
Today, we have more than 100 people working in our wineries and
more than 6000 m2 of plant area with over 50 trucks delivering our
wines on a national scale every week.
As the growing global recognition of Albariño wine from DO Rías
Baixas continues to bring increasing renown to the wines from
Galicia, this year, in partnership with Amores Wines, we turn our
focus to developing the export markets.

BODEGAS DE LOS RÍOS PRIETO
DO.Ribera del Duero, DO.Rueda
Bodegas de los Ríos Prieto is a family-owned business producing
quality producing wines from two Denominations of Origin – Rueda
and Ribera del Duero. In its Rueda facility we produce exquisite white
and rosé wines, which we have added to our portfolio of fine wines.
The winery is situated close to the town of Rueda, in the province
of Valladolid. The land in this region is flat at high elevation with an
altitude of between 600 and 780 m above sea level.
The River Duero flows through the area from east to west and
these river plains create the ideal terroir for growing the Verdejo
grape variety, the predominant one from this region.
The climate is continental with a certain Atlantic maritime influence
which lends to the grapes the perfect acidity and freshness that
characterises our Verdejo whites in its truest expression.

BODEGAS DE LOS RÍOS PRIETO
DO.Ribera del Duero, DO.Rueda
Bodegas de los Rios Prieto was born in Pesquera de Duero, close to
the banks of the River Duero.
This is a winery with a long tradition of wine-making, devoted
to making high expression wines with of superior quality-price
ratio. Felix de los Rios, who founded the winery, is an innovative
man who loves the land and wine. In 2000 he began to modernise
the wine-making techniques applied in the winery by using the
latest technological advances and combining this with the skills
learned from generations of traditional wine-making. In 2002, the
de los Rios family undertook a significant investment in a winery
expansion in order to increase their previously limited production so
they could facilitate widespread demand for their expressive wines.
The winery is now equipped with the most modern technology
including stainless steel deposits, fermentation by thermic control
and climatization. We also have a Crianza building, which was
built 6 metres underground in order to achieve the best humidity
and temperature conditions for perfect ageing of our Crianza and
Reserva wines in American and French oak barrels.
In early September all the vineyards undergo weekly tests in
order to thoroughly control their evolution as well as de degree of
grape characteristics and ripeness. In this way the winemaker
determines the best moment to commence the harvest and so, the
careful production of our perfectly-balanced wines begins.

CAMPOS GÓTICOS
DO.Ribera del Duero
Campos Góticos was incorporated in 1998 with the objective of
planting our own vineyards in the best sites of the Ribera del Duero
wine region, using environmentally-friendly, biodynamic techniques
that could facilitate the production of stand-out premium wines.
The Ribera del Duero wine region is renowned for the unique
characteristics of its soil composition, its altitude and climate, as well
as for the most common grape variety, known as Tempranillo or
“Tinta del País”, which gives us the possibility of producing highquality
wines, on a par with the world’s finest. It is on the banks of the
River Duero that this plant attains and expresses its best qualities.
Through biodynamic grape-growing, we manage to draw from our
vines the true expression of the land and the plant, allowing the land
and the influence of the climate to impart their personality to the
grape, so that we can produce a wine that is unique and distinct from
the uniformity made from inorganic chemicals.

BODEGAS PUJANZA
DO.Rioja
Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza is located in Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja
Alavesa, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, both for its cultural and
historical heritage and for the people who live and work its surrounding
vinyeards.
The winery is situated at the foot of Sierra de Cantabria, surrounded by
some of most characteristic vineyards of La Rioja, in an area where altitude
plays an important in the nature of the crop. The Sierra de Cantabria
mountains not only form the northern border of the DO, it also operates as
a natural frontier for villages and crops of this area creating a perfect climate
for the vines.
Carlos San Pedro is face and heart of Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza, a
thoroughbred winemaker who carries the genes of his wine lineage. He has
reflected in his wines the enthusiasm of his commitment to the world of
the wine, creating harmonious wines, always with the right balance between
fruit and ageing, with elegant and deep palates carrying in their name
the unique characteristics of the terroir and namely, of the single estate
vineyards which are the namesake of his three signature wines: Hado, Finca
Valdepoleo and Norte.
Carlos is both the owner and technical director of the winery being fourth
generation of a family of vine-growers and winemakers of Laguardia in La
Rioja. Bodegas y Viñedos Pujanza is his personal project; a dream which was
born during his childhood and has taken shape over the years to become
what is now a truly unique winery which stays true to the reflecting typicity
of terroir in his exquisite wines.

MARQUÉS DE TERÁN
DO.Ribera del Duero
Marqués de Terán is a pioneering winery who has set the example
for quality-driven wine-making techniques in La Rioja since 2004. The
winery is sited in La Rioja Alta, famous for the extraordinary quality
of their soils and vineyards. The winery building is located on a hill,
with extensive views of the Ebro Valley and the Sierra de Cantabria,
the Sierra of La Demanda, Ollauri and the winery vineyards.
The winery has an 80 hectare surface of vineyard, and more than 50
of these are located in Ollauri, on the western side of the Bodega. The
land in this area offers optimal qualities for the growing of the vine
and it is used for the growth of stocks of Tempranillo, Mazuelo and
Garnacha with which we elaborate our wines.
The architecture of the building has been conceived for a winery
whose production system is the most avant-garde in La Rioja and one
of the most advanced in the world, with the winery yielding the lowest
CO2 emissions globally. Today, Marqués de Terán is the first winery in
the world to use geothermal energy for 100% of the winery’s energy
needs.
Another innovative technique developed by the winery was “cryomaceration”,
a unique maceration technique using liquid nitrogen or “dry
ice” to achieve maximum extraction of the aromas and flavours from
the grape at low temperatures. The winery uses hand-selected grapes
to ensure the best quality is maintained in our wines and an isolated oak
barrel system at optimum natural conditions perfect for ageing.

CONSEJO DE LA ALTA
DO.Rioja
Consejo de la Alta was established in 1990 by a group of wine lovers
in Cenicero, situated in the heart of Rioja Alta.
Surrounded by the Najerilla and Ebro rivers, and the mountains of
Moncalvillo, this area has a unique soil and climate type what make it
an exceptional terroir for cultivating high quality grapes.
The principal treasure of the winery are the 140 hectares of
vineyards carefully selected and nurtured by our viticulture experts
to yield the best possible harvests each year.
The main grape here is Tempranillo, with some yields of Graciano
and Mazuelo, all local grape varieties. Irrespective of market
pressures, we maintain our high standards to maintain the high
quality of the grape throughout the production process.

BODEGAS MATARREDONDA
DO.Toro
The climate, our land and the River Douro do their job every year.
Give life to the old vineyards that germinate the Tinta de Toro and
give character to each corner of this ancient land of climatic contrast
between cold and heat, to the riverside, to the pinewoods... and to
such special terroirs as the Matalobas and Matarredonda vineyards,
where our work begins, collecting the fruit that yields our magnificent
wines.
Our commitment to quality is the focus of our winemaking, by
always giving the natural vinification and ageing processes the time it
requires to produce the perfect wines. Fourteen months in Bordeaux
barrels made of French Allier oak and another year’s finishing in the
bottle produce LIBRANZA, an elegant wine that keeps its violet tone
and naturally blends the fruitiness one expects from the Tinta de
Toro grape with the nuances of oak.

RITME CELLER
DO.Priorat
Located in the north-east corner of Spain, in the Catalunya region,
Priorat is one of only two DOC (Denominacion de Origen Califacda)
in Spain, the second being DOC Rioja.
Our grapes are grown in ancient vineyard estates with 35 to
80 year-old native varieties: Garnatxa (Grenache) and Samso
(Carignan). The philosophy of the winery is based on the old
tradition of winemaking from the ancient vine growers.
Our experience in viticulture has enabled us to produce the fines
wines that express the terroir of these wild vineyards nestled among
the majestic Priorat mountains.
Extreme continental weather conditions and poor stony slate soils
unique to Priorat, challenge the vine roots and result in low yield,
high quality, richly complex wines.

DELGADO ZULETA
DO.Jerez
Delgado Zuleta is one of the oldest family cellars in the Sherry
Triangle. Dating back to the 18th century, this Sherry winery was
founded in 1744 by the stevedore to the New World, Knight of
the Order of Calatavra and Perpetual Alderman of Sanlúcar, Don
Francisco Gil de Ledesma y Sotomayor.
In the 19th Century, José Delgado y Zuleta took over the wine
business, lending his name to the company. The winery subsequently
underwent a major expansion, having the privilege of being
“Suppliers of the Royal House of Spain”, for their Majesties Alfonso
XIII and Doña Victoria Eugenia.
Delgado Zuleta has a long history in the wine industry, playing a
prominent role in this market as a result of the quality of its brands,
the consistency of its sherries and the permanent commitment to
the business.
This winery continues to be one of the oldest, family-run wineries
in Jerez since 1744. It is a classic, yet modern winery that combines
tradition and technology, producing renowned quality Sherry wines.
Our goal is to satisfy our clients and to be open to new trends and
opportunities which may arise in new markets. Our focus on quality
is reflected in our wines and our recognition of an every-changing
market highlights for us the importance of maintaining competitive
prices while Sherry becomes increasingly well-known in the export
markets.

DIEZ MÉRITO
DO.Jerez
A winery in Jerez is always unique. These wines cannot be produced in
another part of the world, with its unique climate, soil type and vinification
through the Soleras and Criaderas system in a way that cannot be replicated
elsewhere. With two centuries of history behind it, Díez Mérito has an
impeccable tradition and expertise as a production of quality Sherries and
Brandy de Jerez.
In 1876, the Díez and Pérez de Muñoz brothers began a wine business in
Jerez. A few years later they were joined by their brother and together they
established Díez Hermanos. At that time, King Alfonso XII awarded them
with the esteemed title of “Suppliers to the Royal House” allowing the winery
to use the Royal Coat of Arms on their invoices and product labels.
Despite being a medium size bodega, Díez Mérito was always ahead of the
rest, with export figures appearing on their books since the beginning of the
20th century and achieving an economic success that enabled the winery to
expand and to acquire a number of smaller bodegas and vineyards.
In the late 70’s, the heirs of the original founding members acquired the
“Marqués del Mérito” winery and merged it with their own, thus creating
Bodegas Díez-Mérito. The company premises remain one of the most
impressive winery buildings in Jerez, called Bodega Bertematti, a majestic
building dating back to 1790 which owes its name to its original owner, the
Marqués de Misa. This marvellous building is located in the heart of Jerez,
with its grand arches holding up the high vaulted structure makes it an ideal
environment for ageing Sherry wine and brandy.

TASTINGS
In order to enhance wine knowledge and offer promotional
support to our customers, we hold bi-weekly tastings in our
Shanghai Showroom. We also participate in promotional
roadshows and hold regional tastings and masterclasses in
collaboration with our customers and partners.

ROADSHOWS

INTERNATIONAL FAIRS
International fairs are the most effective way to target the right
market sector for our wines. The fairs that we choose for exhibition
are especially identified to capture professional buyers from all
sectors in that market. Every we year we have a large booth for
exhibition in at least 5 international trade shows including: IWSF
Hong Kong, Interwine Guangzhou, Guizhou Wine Fair, Prowine
Shanghai and the Chengdu Wine Fair, amog others.
