Pipelines<br />
U.S. natural gas exports to Mexico account for nearly half of total U.S. natural gas exports, and were<br />
approximately 69% of Mexico’s natural gas imports in 2014.To meet increasing electricity demand,<br />
Mexico is constructing several new natural gas-fired power plants across the country that will need<br />
pipelines to import larger amounts of natural gas from the United States. 11<br />
Transmission<br />
With growing demand, particularly for natural gas and renewable energy resources, Mexico could<br />
become a growth market for neighboring U.S. states with excess generating capacity.<br />
