Through these business-to-business transactions and consumer spending, additional jobs and wages are<br />
generated: on an annual basis this works out to 1,400 jobs, $44 million in wages, and a total secondary<br />
output of $134 million. Thus, the overall importance of the Nogales fresh produce industry for the Santa<br />
Cruz County economy can be summed up as supporting more than 4,000 jobs and contributing $190<br />
million in wages, while the total output (including wages) amounts to $438 million (Table 3).<br />
