SOLEMN LITURGICAL RECEPTION
As Bishop Vincent is led to the entry door gates of the Cathedral, the Cathedral bell ‘Patrick’ will be tolled. The Bishop is greeted
first by members of the local Aboriginal community elders and representatives.
Bishop Vincent is solemnly received by the Metropolitan Archbishop, Most Rev Anthony Fisher OP, the Administrator of the
Diocese of Parramatta, Very Rev Peter G. Williams, and the College of Consultors.
The Dean of the Cathedral, Very Rev Robert Bossini, presents him with the crucifix to kiss, and holy water to bless himself and
those around him. Bishop Vincent is then led to the tabernacle in the Cathedral Chapel to pray for a short time before the Blessed
Sacrament.
As the Bishop is led to the Blessed Sacrament for Prayer, the schola sings the following antiphon.

O priest and bishop, and worker of all virtues,
