Monitoring Design Objectives
Monitoring Design Objectives
The information in the .otm file can be enriched. Additional columns labelled with the name of
a design objective can be printed during the optimization process, enabling you to monitor the
optimization process more closely.
This is achieved through specifying the parameter MONIT_VAL=QUALIFIER within the
.OBJECTIVE command. This parameter specifies how the current values of a design objective
are printed during optimization. Multiple options are allowed and these should be separated by
commas. The default value is MEAN.
Note
When a design objective is represented by a single value, this value is printed as a raw
number.

Consider the GOAL objective statement for example:

The options that are available are:
• MONIT_VAL=MEAN, the printed value will be the sum , which is the
mean value of the functions f (k) r (x).
