Specifying Design Objectives Using .EXTRACT
Vector Design Objectives
Vector objectives are specified using the FITTING parameter with the .EXTRACT command.
The general syntax of the .EXTRACT command for vector objectives is:

Parameters
• [EXTRACT_INFO] [LABEL=NAME] [FILE=FILE_NAME] [VECT] [CATVECT]

• FITTING TARGET_NAME
Specifies the name of the discretized curve to fit. It can be the name of a previously defined
wave or a reference to a variable in a .DATA statement. For more information run the
example fourband in the directory: $MGC_AMS_HOME/examples/optimizer.
• SCALE_INFO:= [LINEAR|LOG|LOG10]
Specifies the scale (LINEAR, LOG, or LOG10) of the x-axis for the extracted measures.
• INTERP_INFO:= INCR=RVALUE
The INTERP_INFO parameter is used only when goal values are specified through .DATA
statements. INCR=RVALUE specifies the real-valued step of the analysis sweep variable
used for generating goal values through piece wise linear interpolation of data provided by
an associated .DATA command.
• SELECT_INFO:= DEC=RVALUE
Specifies the number of points per decade in the analysis sweep variable used for generating
goal values using a logarithmic interpolation of the data points provided. The corresponding
simulated values are obtained by interpolation of the available simulated values.

Notes:
• You can specify a multi-dimensional specification of GOAL objectives. This is
equivalent to specifying the .EXTRACT FITTING command.
• Coherency is enforced between analysis commands and objective specifications.
• The .OPTIMIZE command is required in the netlist.
