Spectre to Eldo Converter
4. The script runs through the patch installation, and upon completion requests two settings
to be added to your .cshrc (or equivalent) file:
• Set the patch environment variable:
setenv S2E_PATCH out_dir
(where out_dir is the full path of the output directory as you entered in step 3)
• Add $S2E_PATCH/bin to your PATH environment variable:
setenv PATH $S2E_PATCH/bin :$PATH
5. In a new shell, or sourcing the .cshrc, you will be able to use the new Spectre to Eldo
converter.
Supported Features
The Spectre to Eldo converter can convert Spectre syntax to guarantee compatible results for:
• Basic component instantiations.
• Device models and instances.
• Subcircuit definitions and instances.
• nport instances.
• Controlled sources.
• Functions and “if” statements.
• Statistics.
• Conversion of some of the device models written with SPICE syntax (simulator
lang=SPICE). These models are:
MOSFET models (nmos and pmos) MOS1, MOS2, MOS3, BSIM1, BSIM2, BSIM3,
BSIM3v3, BSIM4, and BSIM-CMG (SPICE levels 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 54, and 72
respectively); BJT model (npn, pnp, lnpn, and lpnp), SPICE BJT (equivalent to Eldo
level 1 as SPICE does not support level for BJT); Diode model (SPICE levels 1 and 3).
The Spectre to Eldo converter can handle libraries with nested includes for any number of levels
and for any directory structure.
The following Spectre device models are supported:
• BSIM3v3 MOS model.
• BSIM-CMG MOS model.
• Philips PSP 102 MOS model.
