PNP and NPN Devices
Compat mode affects the default type for PNP and NPN devices. SUBS defines the type of BJT.
By default, NPN and PNP are vertical:
• If SUBS is -1, BJT is lateral.If SUBS is 1, BJT is vertical.
• If -compat is set, NPN are vertical, PNP are lateral.

Resistor and Capacitor Model Syntax
.MODEL R or C: SCALE equivalent to Eldo R or C.
In compat mode (-compat or -compmod) R is not allowed as a parameter for a resistor model
and C is not allowed as a parameter for a capacitor model. Use the SCALE parameter instead.
Capacitor CTYPE Parameter
In compat mode, CTYPE will always default to 0 for C(V) and VCCAP devices, and
AUTOCTYPE is disabled. The default CTYPE can be globally set to 1 using .option
CTYPE=1. AUTOCTYPE can be activated using .option AUTOCTYPE.
Element Output
In compat mode, LV1 represents the channel length for the BSIM4 MOS model, and the
effective channel length (default) for all other MOS models.
In compat mode, LV2 represents the channel width for the BSIM4 MOS model, and the
effective channel width (default) for all other MOS models.

Group Delay
VT is equivalent to VGD, and IT is equivalent to IGD (Group Delay on voltage or current). For
more information, see “VXxx(devname.posi)” in the Eldo Reference Manual.
