Example 24—Cell Characterization: Setup Time Extraction
The 'relin' optional parameter on the .optimize command specifies the required relative accuracy
on the optimization variable (directly 'ts' in this example). The default value is 0.001 (0.1%).
In this example, the dichotomy will converge in about 10 iterations, and yield a setup time of
136ps.
Be careful that using unreasonable accuracy may lead to numerous iterations. Also note that the
simulation accuracy itself (as defined with the .option eps=) has to be consistent with the
required optimization accuracy. There is no point asking for 0.01% accuracy on the setup time if
the simulations are only 1-5% accurate because you use a very loose eps value.
